True; it would just be one drummer up there til the electric set.

Not many video examples of 1970 acoustic Dead, I'm afraid; but this was a set where it was just Bill drumming:

I put that one quickly into my favorites.
You are right about video being scarce, I watched a lot of video trying to find a just one drummer acoustic dead performance from that general era and so many of them had still photo's which were inconclusive at best.
Not a lot of views for this considering just how cool this is.(The humble labelling probably causes it to fly under the radar)
The video of the band is great.(one drummer and all)
Phil sounds like he is playing a Cello!!!
Also of note the crowd scenes remind me of a Rainbow Gathering but in an outdoor stadium with the authorities seeking to keep order but 'it is foolish dog that barks at a flying bird'
This is primal 1970 one drummer cowboy acoustic Canadian Dead at its best. oh yeah!

Nice establishing shot here of CNE Stadium in Toronto, original home of the Toronto Blue Jays, from 1977-1989. Demolished in 1999.
